University of Hawaii Manoa

The Warrior Recreation Center Renovations on the Manoa Campus of the University of Hawaii was completed in 2019. The renovations corrected many of the construction and design defects from the original construction in 2014. The exterior renovations corrected the water intrusion, structural issues, and improved building energy performance. The interior renovations improved energy efficiency and modernized the playing court floors and added much needed equipment. All the improvements were to NCAA level standards for lighting, court and equipment. The useful life of this existing UH asset was extended through a design-build coordinated effort to define existing building design/construction defects and plan for improvements and corrections. Work was planned around a fully operating facility and key strategies were implemented to phase the construction with minimal disruption
